16 Jan: Whatever happened to the days of dinner parties, and chatting over tea? Entertaining in the parlour? Do homes these days still have parlours? Yes, I'm thinking of TV shows set in the 1950s and almost anything on BBC America for reference, but what happened to old fashioned hospitality? These days, people talk through closed doors, text other people while sitting at dinner. People are glued to their phones. Not getting together to talk, getting together for social media.
This card is a reminder to put the phone down. Have time with the people around you, not their social media profiles. Call your oldest friend. Go meet up for coffee or go out to dinner. Reconnect with the people in your life, they're there for a reason.
