Tarot Classes and Courses

Tarot classes are back on the schedule!

Rider Wait, Universal & Radiant are the decks used for our Beginner series classes.

I've added a full course, for those looking to save some money, you can register for the course which starts at beginner level and goes through to advanced, with a Certificate of Completion, as well as the classes option to pick and choose the classes you feel you need, if you're already familiar with the world of Tarot.

Traditional Marseilles and Rider Waite Based Decks are used in our Intermediate Classes

Both online and in-person classes are available. Yes, you read that right. I'm offering Beginner and Intermediate Tarot at Enchanted Gift Loft in Oxford. These classes start in March of 2022 and go right through into May. As of now, I'm only offering Advanced Tarot online via Zoom. All of my Tarot Classes and Tarot Course are available via Zoom.

There are many variations of RWS and Marseilles styled based decks.

Now we move on the Q & A portion. Here are some questions I get asked a lot.

Q: Is experience is necessary for Tarot Classes?

A: Not at all! Beginner classes are designed for those who have never entered the world of Tarot. From there, class prerequisites are necessary for Intermediate and Advanced classes. The Learn the Tarot Course is for those just looking to begin.

Q: What if you aren't the best shuffler?

A: It's ok, you'll get more comfortable with it in no time. I have arthritis in my wrist and I can still do it. You find ways that work best for you. I have a deck that is so large I can't shuffle it with traditional means. I use the table or sometimes the floor and shuffle like a kid.

Although they many be much prettier to the eye, and you may be drawn to these style decks, they are not ideal for learning on.

Q: There are so many decks, how will I know what to use?

A: I teach on the Rider Waite Smith Deck. It looks like the first picture up top. It is the easiest to learn on and translates best to other styles of decks and other methods of reading.

Q: I have an Oracle deck or a Deck that has the word Tarot on it, can I learn on that?

A: Oracle and Tarot are very different in terms of learning, although they're both forms of divination. Some Tarot decks even have Oracle cards included within them. Unless your Tarot deck claims 78 cards with a Major and Minor Arcana, it is not a Tarot Deck.

Musing Eyes Tarot is my own deck, a Marseilles style with a bonus Oracle Card to total 79 cards.

The Spiral, shown in the Musing Eyes Tarot Deck, is a bonus Oracle Card added to the 79 card Marseilles styled deck. It's the Reader's choice to leave in bonus Oracle cards as intended by the artist, or to take them out.

Q: Do Tarot Decks have to be gifted to you?

A: Absolutely not. You can be gifted a deck, that's really nice of someone to do, but there's something about picking up a deck that you connect with that makes it even better.

Q: I have a Tarot Deck but it's missing cards, can I still use it?

A: For learning, no. For reading, truthfully, it depends on the reader, as they usually have something in place to substitute for the missing card. There's a reason there are 78 cards in the Tarot. They all have a purpose.
