Mind & Body Mediation & Hula Hoop

Hooping on body has the hoop parallel to the ground and will circle from the head to the legs. Here is an example of leg hooping.

Balance your mind and body with meditations while learning to hula hoop. We will be socially distanced a minimum of six feet apart, in most cases, even more, while gathering outdoors. A mask is required unless participating via Zoom.

Off body hooping, such as this Halo, helps transition the hoop.

This class does not include a hula hoop. However, I can direct you to a hoop-smith if needed. A kids hoop from a box store toy department will not suffice here. You'll need a handmade, adult sized hoop.

Bringing the hoop from Halo into Vortex, completely encompasses you inside the hoop.

As with all physical activity, there is always the potential for injury. Please check with your doctor before starting any physical fitness. This class is 18+.

A Waiver must be completed to participate.

Here are hoops made by Marcia for an Arts Faire in Burrillville, RI some years back.

This Mind & Body class is taught by Marcia Robinson, who has been teaching hula hoop for ten years. We will be beginning with a meditation and hoop yoga for stretching, then bringing our meditation in the hoop as we learn the basics.

Sounds good. Offhand I know it's scheduled in May, but I don't know the date off the top of my head.
