Poppet: noun - a small figure of a human being used in sorcery and witchcraft.
Poppets are one of the simple ways to work your craft. They are primarily associated with Voodoo Dolls and other effigies, which have a darker vibe about them. Did you know that you can use poppets for your magickal workings besides sticking pins in them?
My little poppet pictured is guarding my living room. It was made with herbs in it for protection, and is hanging around in my living room.
I have another poppet, older, and has seen better days, in my crystal trunk, as another protection poppet. The trunk has seen better days as well, but when I was still "in the broom closet", I kept all of my spiritual and witchy things in a trunk so nothing was out to be seen.
Poppets can be used for lots of reasons, for various spells. Protection, as mentioned, but also for grounding, anti-anxiety, success, psychic abilities, personal growth, attracting spirit, attracting luck, health, and more.
